this is a subject Maelfyn and i have discussed on the boards a few times since i started playing. its an important topic though, and i'd like others to chime in with their experiences.

basically just say what level / class you were when you beat XXX boss on XXX difficulty, and say whether or not you thought it was too easy, too diffuclt, just right, etc.

recently i beat Vox with my level 67 SK on Nightmare and it felt way too easy. finished the fight at full health and 80% mana.

just now though I beat Nagafen at level 70 (same char, SK), and finished the fight on my first try but with about 15% health and pretty low mana. difficulty there felt a bit more appropriate. was a super close fight, i was a few seconds from dying. personally i wouldn't have minded if it was a bit harder, but i REALLY like a challenge and idk if everyone else would agree.

Thanks for bringing this up. This is definitely going to be one of the last few things i balance before 1.0. They should be tough fights, but not impossible. On hell it should be particularly hard though.

managed to make it all the way to the ice giant diplomat / priest of nagafen fight in hell mode on my level 75 SK. attempted the battle twice so far, don't think i'm going to be able to beat it just yet. lasted over 6 minutes in my second attempt, but i couldn't even manage to kill one of them.

would anyone else like to chime in on how hard / easy the various major boss battles were at particular levels?

I can only speak to Normal as I am only 53. I felt the boss fights as a Necro were much to easy. That could be due to the bug that I encountered with progression but even Vox and Naggy in the low 40's were pretty easy. Between fear kiting and the WAY OP 20 point fear talent bonus i am coasting in Nightmare as well, jsut been short on time in front of my cpu. I'll share my thoughts when I get to the bosses again.

If you are killing things 1 at at time, then you are gonna have an easy time. Hell starts to get pretty nasty. But the real challenge is trying to farm 5 wide.

made it to Vox in Hell. sometimes she trashes my 76 SK really quickly, other times i put up a bit of a fight at least. sometimes the random number generator is nice enough to me that i even make it past her complete heal. and one time so far i even got her down to 10% health post-CHeal. i'm pretty sure that if i try enough times i will eventually be able to beat her at 76, but it would probably take a few hundred attempts.

so yeah, still not a complete cakewalk, FYI. =p
