It might not be obvious, but I dramatically changed the database's design over the weekend. The most obvious difference is how quickly the leaderboard loads up now. It was a crazy amount of work, but I finally patched it up and cleaned up my mess at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning EST. On the bright side I'm very happy due to the performance and scalability of this current design.

I'm looking forward to working on all of the other things I'd rather be working on. You gotta clear "growing pain" hurdles like these early before they become major problems.

Fun stat: dropped the database from 267 megs to 30 megs. I could go lower, but there are some fun metrics I'm trying to track without getting so big.

Holy shit. Yeah, I haven't played yet today but loaded it up just to check out the leaderboard. The loading times are like instant now.
