I wasn't sure if I should post this in the bug forums because I wasn't sure if it was a bug or if it was an intended change, though combing through the patch notes I didn't see mention of it. For some reason I can't upgrade any Set Items. I get the message "You cannot upgrade that type of item" or something similar. I can't check again what the message is right now because servers came down as I was messing with it. I noticed it initially on the Augur's Sludge boots and then I tested it on a few others just to be sure. I hadn't ever upgraded a set item before, admittedly, but decided to test out Augur's on my monk for the massive armor they get once upgraded after I saw someone else post 10/10 upgraded ones on my Monk guide. If it's a bug I thought it might have had something to do with the recent set items being changed from Elite to Exceptional.

TL;DR Intended or bug?

Should be able to upgrade anything, including rusty garbage can lids. Testing...

Btw, lol, before the conspiracy theories start, I'm not implementing those monetization ideas. Just some notes from a video I liked.

I like a lot of those ideas, especially the Crystals for fresh boss kills and the instant upgrading. I'd also be fine with upgrading being removed as it's just arbitrary number gains which are generally boring gold sinks with no real depth. Either way. I think you should add "Grey/Red out Rank 20 Bonuses until they are active" to that part of the list. Sometimes with other rank 20 bonuses to +Talents in that column it brings me up to 20 and I'm still not entirely sure if that activates the bonus. The last note on that screenie there, "Change all L20 for "main" skills" sounds similar to an idea I talked about in my Monk conclusion, too.

Also, a thing I've noticed is sometimes when I CTRL-L Click to quick sell to vendors it takes a few seconds when I hover over the next item for my cursor to denote the fact that I'm at a new item. Dunno if this is a problem within the game or if it's on my end, and it doesn't happen all the time so /shrug.

Also, off topic quite a bit but I really wish I'd played when this was more of an EQ fan game as that nostalgia trip is what led me to check this out. What you've done with it thus far is astounding though so kudos!

Also.

I just upgraded a set armor piece to 10/10 and didn't notice any changes (Malefactor's gloves). Is that supposed to do anything?

It generally just does +Armor on anything but weapons/offhands scaling with the items required level. Are you sure the armor didn't change?

Oh, it may have but I wasn't watching armor sine its cloth and kind of doesn't matter. Thanks for the info though.
