From time to time I have considered changing to a different theme. This one is okay, I suppose. I have considered going with something with a white/grey background. Something that stands out less if people are browsing at work/school. Which probably happens a lot.

Prefer darker. If you do, I'd suggest earthy tones. Darker browns and greens, etc.

Just make sure text is contrasting in a readable fashion.

I wouldn't be averse to parchment-type colours either.

i like the dark theme. perhaps there is a way to give people the option of dark or worksafe.

One thing I really like is that it's super easy to visually tell when a forum has a new post. The red really stands out. It's easy to stay on top of new posts.

Yes, I like the current theme but I can understand if people want to change it. Usually most of the theme packs you download allow you to set a default and then users can set a preference if you want. Though its been years since Ive worked on a forum.
