hah, it's alright as it is with the way healing is right now. I still died a few times to some bosses just because I couldn't mitigate the damage done well enough.
The regens on the buffs is very insignificant.

I know, just saying - before you swing the nerf bat on it. hehe
Might be a good idea to look at all of the heals and make them scale by %. Makes sense for healing abilities since skills stop at L.50. Right now they don't scale well at all.

I'd do something like: Heal over Time: Skill - Potency. Min Skill = 1%, Max Skill = 3%. Talent - Frequency. Skill Level 1 = 3 Seconds, Skill Level 20 = 2 seconds. So a maxed out skill with talent would regenerate 3% every 2 seconds. A min skill would regenerate 1% every 3 seconds. A max skill with no talents would regenerate 3% every 3 seconds. Direct Heals: Same logic could apply with Direct Heals. Skill - Potency. Min Skill = 15%, Max Skill = 25% Talent - Buff. Applies some kind of buff that lasts for less than the duration of the Direct Heal cooldown. Just some random thoughts - totally the wrong forum for this though.

Better solution is probably a really simple one. Just change the skill maximums.

Well that might be a good solution - probably want to test it first to make sure things don't blow up  Definitely though, if you're open to it / trying it.

It would certainly create some flux, but it might be a good idea. I might have to buff mob HP a bit.

Now only Mage and Cleric haven't yet cleared Hell in softcore... As a side note, I started first as Mage but at ActI Hell I hit a wall, every mob was a pain to kill, so I went Wizard and finished the game in less time it took my mage to finish Nightmare  Didn't use much gear from Mage either; Wiz has much more synergies going, and better lvl20 bonuses imho. Reduced cooldowns ftw!

not so sure... lots of healing, lots of damage mitigation.. its a pretty good candidate for hc runs
ofc mine's pretty low at the time of writing. still need to bring it to hell before i can really comment i guess

yeah - mage is pretty bad. My dps just isn't enough post skill bump / hp bump. I'm sitting at Burzina / Braxxen in hell right now. Wonder how that's going to go!

easy fix imo, buff pet or buff burnout. check enchanter perma charm pet + alacrity to see what mage pet should be like.. at least 1/2 of that power would be enough considering all of mage's other abilities.
btw mukkel, try an enchanter.. really interested in what you think of them in terms of power versus your other classes

I'll check out enchanter next. I'm up to Highlord Szarthax on the magician in Hell - took me like 6 hours to get to this point since the giants have ~80k hps, hit like trucks and and resistant to fire. Needless to say, 85% of my damage is fire so every fight is like a boss fight.
The named mini-bosses certainly proved challenging with their 250k hps and 290k hp add.. My 1k dps showed them! heheh
I'd been meaning to do Hardcore, maybe I'll follow you and make a HC Enchanter! Nothing like starting out fresh!

lol. I didn't even know it was broken - it certainly wasn't while I was playing my warrior! The thing was pretty much always on CD. I rarely play my warrior anymore because there isn't really any point.
I'm always immune to Stuns as an Ogre! THE MASTER RACE OF NEVERGRIND #becausescrewstuns.

Congrats!! How did you deal with the fire res mobs and champs in Hell? I've stopped playing my Mage in Act1 Hell, everything took forever to die...

Thanks! Perseverance... The areas that were full of fire resist mobs, some of them took me roughly 5-6 hours to get through. The best I could do against them was ~1500 DPS in most instances. It was pretty painful. As for champs, I'd stasis them and run - they weren't worth fighting. In fact as a magician I did that to pretty much all champs. The class DPS is really low.
