Yeah.. Life leech wasnt something I was hurting for at all. Assassin neck is an upgrade over garotte I think? Havent gotten that, monk head, or monk pants (not sure those beat drunken masters anyway).

I have the Rogue neck and I was considering it as well, it is pretty nice. I am not too big a fan of the Drunken Master pants though, they are pretty good but I feel like I give up too much for a little haste and str, though they are big dps chunks. I think the GM pants are pretty good though I haven't looked at them in a few days so I don't recall off the top of my head either way.

I don't think I can die right now if I don't make some immense mistake. If I save all my defensives for when I pull like a full pack of really nasty affixes even they are a joke.

Those blind+dex debuffs get me. Its all smooth sailing until a perfect storm of nastiness and then you cant hit any thing and get stunned on top of it.

Or ya know, you just arent paying a bit of attention.. That happens sometimes too

Closest I've gotten so far is when I'm deleting a lot of stuff in my bags because I'm still fishing for a few regular uniques so they fill up quick and I looked over at 20% and popped everything and went nuts lol. Blind doesn't really bother me at all and stuns are a complete joke at 90% reduc. Only thing that can get me is like a few shredding auras with like frenzy or amp magic all nuking me at once.

I wonder if Dex over the cap allows you to have a higher hit chance when blinded... Hmm

Here's my most recent Nalatos kill and I think I'm actually unkillable lol.

Swapped to the Rogue neck and only lost a little fire res. GM pants would cap that and also poison if I ended up swapping over to the Garrote if I ever see one. May be on to something here ;)

Also, if I get GM pants I will passively have capped fear reduction, which isn't IMMUNE, but I could effectively drop that talent for basically no real downside, allowing me to pick up a completely different talent, though most other talents are pretty inconsequential over all so /meh

Excited for how much harder things could be. Once the rest of the classes catch up :P

I just got done testing every 1hb weapon I had. At first I thought the results could have been related to me having lower skill levels in 1hb, but that changed nothing. The Baron's dagger gives me a bigger DPS boost. It even gives more of a DPS boost than the ragestriker dagger does, and I can't figure out why. I'm still stumped as to why the Baron's dagger boosts monk DPS like it does. No particular stats jump out as contributing factors to the results I'm seeing. I suspect there might be a bug with that particular weapon. I tested some other weapons including claws, and 1h slashing, again, none of them came close to the Baron's dagger. Also, the effect on the Baron's dagger does a 3-4 sec stun, and it triggers reasonably often.

As far as the monk class goes, I liked it considerably better than Shadow Knight and Rogue. I'm probably going to delete Rogue and SK to make room for test driving some other classes.

tons of attack haste and lots of dex. its pretty win.

It's all the Attack Haste as we've discussed here. It's actually kind of weird that the ratio makes that big of a difference. Try out the axe I've mentioned a few times if you haven't. It's a very slight AH downgrade with better over all stats everywhere else.

Some other possible gear choices depending on how RNG treats you:

Head - Phantasmist's Acumen. Its really sick for Monk, has 21% physical damage boost and a bunch of other nice stats.

Shoulder - Warlord's Disdain.

Gloves - Gutrender.

Boots!! - Crusader's Vehemence. Just found these last night. Has 228 armor at 10/10 upgrade. Lots of other good mods for Monk on it too. Superior choice to Reviled March.

I plan to update the gearing section soon and all of those are on the list. I haven't touched this guide since well before the new sets were out ;). Gotta do some testing on the Necro and update that one too :O

I'm actually wondering now if it's an upgrade to DW a weapon with high AH over having a naked fist Main hand. More to come soon C:

Cool, will do. I'm not sure I have it, but I'll check the bank to make sure. RNG has been crapping on me as far as completing sets or finding new stuff. Last night I found 5 Phantasmist's acumens in about 30 minutes, 2 grandmaster's affinity and several other duplicates of set pieces I've seen a bunch of times already. The only new one I saw was Crusader's boots. Basically I keep finding multiple copies of the same items I already got when I'm nowhere close to possessing most of the stuff in the game.

I dunno if RNG is just trolling me, but I've noticed patterns of certain areas being weighted in favor of dropping certain types of equipment. I forget which zone, but I got most of the elite/set daggers in about 30 minutes chaining mobs in 1 zone, and daggers kept consistently dropping the entire time.

Yeah, I've vendored more duplicate set items than anything else lately lol.

Author:  crimsonchaos [ Mon Jun 22, 2015 1:28 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Ra Ra Rasputin! A Guide to Mad Monkery.

Once we can trade items, the duplicates I'm being spammed with might be the last piece another player needs to complete a set, with them finding tons of duplicates of stuff I can't get to drop. I'm saving a few duplicates of really good elite tier sets in hopes I can barter it for something I need in the future.

Of course, Beaster's boots are gonna be worth more than all the Elite tier completed sets combined

I think when trading becomes a thing I will simply have to lower drop rates of absolutely everything. If I don't the market will be insanely flooded with shit.

I did a nice chain, unfortunately I had to stop because my inventory was filled to the max with stuff I didn't want to discard.

That would be nice to be able to change a setting and have drops go directly to the bank. I would definitely buy some more bank slots if that feature became available.
