Is there a way to auto combat? I read in the options about an auto attack but I cant seem to get it to work.

It's the sword icon on the left of the screen, the second from the top ( between the "pull next mob" and " escape" commands).
Toggle it on/off by left-clicking on it or pressing A. When it's on you'll notice a countdown, at 0 your weapon will strike your current target - that's the autoattack, with damage and delay( time between autoattacks) based on your current weapon.

So there isnt a way to like idle? Set auto attack on and pull monsters all day with me not being there?

...not that I know of. Unless you have some sick weapon and some passive bonuses/talents ( iirc the warrior class has something to really boost your autoattacks, as have other classes btw) I don't really think you can - and survive that is ;)

EDIT : why would you want to do that anyway?

Nevergrind isn't Progress Quest.

There's a strange new genre of idle games, Cookie Clicker or Clicker Hero for example, where the game plays itself and you just check in on it to see how it's progressing. They're like a satire of Farmville style Facebook games.

The answer is no, but I will say it is absolutely stunning how popular idle games are on Kongregate. I had no idea how big it was until I posted Nevergrind over there.

Nevergrind on kongregate? This game would explode there! This game would be absolute crack! /crosses fingers!

EDIT: Just realized it is on Kongregate! Holy crap! Gonna play it over there and try and advertise it without getting banned. :ugeek:

I kind of shot myself in the foot by releasing it too early over there. It was my first game, so I didn't understand the importance of releasing at the right time on Kongregate. The game has dramatically improved since when it was initially launched.

Advertisement is the hardest part of new games like this. Its very hard to get the game in front of a large audience without spending a lot of money. I immediately posted this on sites like mmorpg.com and onrpg.com and various gaming forums in there off-topic section.... Best I can do...

Reddit is a really good place for this sort of thing, too. I get called a spammer when I share it there :)
