Hello, I'm new.

When did season 1 start?

When will it end?

What happens when it ends?

April 20th - or the 17th if you had early access through kickstarter.

TBA - will last about 9 months, iirc a statement from the developer...

We're all going to die  - no idea tbh, apart from the beginning of Season 2 and a fresh Leaderboard

9 months is great for me... I play hardcore mode ONLY... So far I have died twice from YOLOing large packs of monsters and thinking a 36% chance to run is 100%...

I might do it based on a vote. Perhaps of something like 75% vote for a reset, I'll plan a wipe.

And right now I'm playing a Monk ;)

HC really makes the game interesting. Its almost a different game as your stat priorities tend to shift.

I would recommend playing the game through on regular first. The difficulty in the game very much ebbs and flows and knowing ahead of time that the next fight involves 3 dudes, a pet and the kitchen sink - is helpful.

Last thing you want to do is get to level 60, run off into nightmare mode and discover double ambushes the hard way. Or discover that dragons, on top of doing lots of damage can fear you for 17 minutes (exaggerating slightly).

There there. I'm sure he meant "moved to non-ladder" with fresh set items to collect for the new ladder season and old ones retired.

Please?

It'll be a while. I considered be a money grubbing skank and allowing players to buy "season immune" bank slots.

semi-regular wipes will keep the game fresh IMO. Getting a character to the mid 90s doesnt take that long.

Upgraded bank and character slots won't be carried to the next season?

Tezl, probably not. It would completely defeat the purpose of a wipe.

Let me see if I understand this right: after the wipe - which will happen in a few months, right? - you'll wipe all the chars and items, BUT the bank space and the char slots that a player has purchased with crystals will be retained, correct? They will just be empty...

Bank slots that people purchased will not be reset back to 9 LOL! The items themselves will disappear at some point. Account data is totally separate from character, item, and quest data. Account data will never be wiped even if a meteor hits my home.

As far as the "super bank slots", that's just something I thought about, but it will probably not be implemented.

Well this made me quit, i thought this game was a gear grind and that you will add content and increase level cap instead of wiping. I ain't playing if i don't even know what will happen to my character..

Oh I see. I thought you were saying the crystal-purchased account upgrades would be wiped too. That would suck.

Re: multiple seasons. The reset will happen when players demand it. I don't know when that is. Maybe never? I don't know yet.

My vote is:

There should be separate leagues.

Non-Ladder - Softcore / Hardcore

Ladder - Softcore / Hardcore

That way, players have a choice whether they want to compete or just play casually.

Easy way to make leagues, add to all players names this tag "S1". And so on, sort them on leaderboard like that, no need for wipes, people can compete if they want to or play on their old champ. Either that or allow for a way to play our characters on trial local mode if nothing else can work..

Actually, that is what I have been planning. It's almost the same model as Diablo 2. I guess wipe is the wrong word. It's a wipe of the leaderboard. All characters from season 1 would go to "non-ladder". Season 2 ladder begins. Season 1 characters cannot trade with season 2. The database already has season properties for characters and items.

I did consider wiping everything, but this post definitely convinced me to use the ladder wipe approach.
