Post subject:  New patch is out
Highlights:

  • Shields now have block rates that work against physical and magic attacks, but not DoTs
  • Dual wielding now yields a passive parry/riposte bonus of 5%
  • Magicians get a new level 20 bonus from Armageddon
  • Rare mobs on nightmare get +1 level bonus. Rare mobs in hell get +2 levels.

Any magicians want to comment on how shit looks?

Sweet on the dual wield. Im a total dps whore but maybe when I drift to hardcore I'll try that? But then again...

The shield thing is bad ass. I made a rule many years ago: If a shield cant block something resulting in 0 damage I wont use it.

Best sword and board class and weapon+shield combo? READY? Go!

The shield change was definitely overdue. Should create opportunities for some interesting sword 'n' board builds, too.

Does the block rate change for shields show up in their description? The shields Ive found so far don't look any different. Any clue how much of a change to block rate happened ?

You see the block rate when you equip it.

Clawed guardian is 24% so is the guardian shield.

Thats pretty fucking nice. Hardcore monk using shield? Heh

Is shield block skill dependent or shield dependent or just a flat bonus to anyone wearing any shield?

I had another shield drop (elite) and it has 0% block listed on it. Woot!

Its listed as 0% in inventory but when you equip it the number changes. I'll ive seen so far is 24%. But ya know, only tried 2

Sounds like a bug. 10% is supposed to be minimum. Which graphic? In any case, I'll fix.

Edit: It's a tooltip bug only.
