You will now have a chance to do crippling damage. Your crippling rate will appear on your stat sheet and will be equal to 25% of your uncapped crit rate. Crippling hits are just like critical hits but they also do additional damage equal to 5% of your target's current health. So if your target has 20,000 health, a crippling hit will do an additional 1000 damage.

This has been planned for a while as a way to reward players that stack crit beyond the 75% cap. With the new elite items this is more attainable than before. This means you would still benefit from crit chance all the way up to 300% crit which would hit the 75% crip cap.

Are crippling blows just for melee only? My necro is all DoT's, so I dont see many anyway, but I was just wondering if they happen on spells as well.

edit - tabbed back and got one on my first spell. Guess that's answered!

And on the subject of crits/crips, I dont think I've ever seen my pet crit. Is he supposed to?

Pets? Nah. Necros aren't so much a crit oriented class, are they? I don't think pets even crit, so no crip either.

Well it would be, if they did. Then it might be worth caring about crit on my gear.

Then again, stacking crit and just spamming Bone Spirit would probably be better dps than messing around with all the DoTs...

Basically any skill that hits rapidly got more powerful because of this.

Seeing some weird things with crippling blow %. It does not seem to include item crit percentage, i.e. ``+3% Critical Chance``, merely crit from stats increase the crippling blow chance. Is this intentional or am I just confused?
