I haven't played EQ since velious, i'm a little confused on what stats I should be focusing on. I'm basically going by your normal MMORPG standards, IE Rogues/Rangers need dex/agi, melee classes need str/sta, casters int/wis etc..... is this correct?

If I wanted to maximize damage on my ranger, should I focus on agi/dex or str? From looking at the EQ wiki, it appears i'm wasting my time with dexterity and agi unless stat allocation is different in nevergrind.

Focus mostly on attack haste and skill haste, crit and crit increase. The gear you get that has that will be itemized for your class whether it be leather or chain. I even wear a few plate pieces because they offer tons of crit. This is sort of the goal. If there was a dummy for DPS testing, I could try different builds, but it is hard to tell at the moment.
