This is all "unofficial", but I have decided to share a few details. Server accounts are not vaporware and I will soon prove this with a video in the near future demonstrating logging in, logging out, creating accounts, creating characters, deleting characters, and more will be shown. I think this will help pave the way to even more fun features such as trading depots, mailing items, integrated chat, and even multiplayer.

Another early detail I have been working on is monetization. Note that none of this is confirmed:

Free: unlocks all of normal, one playable character, no bank, no leaderboard

$1: Paid Account Status - unlock nightmare/hell, leaderboard access, 2 playable characters, ability to unlock additional bank slots/characters

$1: Unlock 2 additional character slots

$1: Unlock 18 bank slots

Feel free to provide feedback. The more constructive the better. :)

Not a bad idea, but I don't like that idea since that will massively affect what classes people play. Then the leaderboard will be really uneven. I'm not against the idea of something like an expansion later though where I release two more classes with it... something like that.

I think it's a good idea, at least part of it. You could let people continue through Nightmare/Hell for free, but have to pay $1 to use exceptional and elite items instead. This is a much better option if you add an auction house at some point. Will unlimited $ give unlimited bank slots and character slots, or will it still be limited?

Probably 16 characters per account max... bank is max at 126 but that is likely to get increased as that has been requested quite a bit. I can see why with the set items.

I don't plan to wipe local accounts, but in all likelihood they will probably be phased out over time to make it less painful. I think this is probably the best approach. Once you have access to accounts I doubt very many would want to play locally due to the ability to preserve their items and transfer them between devices. Plus all the future server-only features that are planned will make it a no brainer imho. The pros outnumber the cons so much.

Updates to the game look good, however, I think the white background on items is a bit too bright.
