Post subject:  Riven Grotto balance

Hey,

Really enjoying the game, I backed the kickstarter and I'm on probably my 10th character (had to try all the classes). I will eventually have all kinds of suggestions but this is the one for today.

I've run a couple characters up into the 50s now and I can honestly say the single most difficult zone in the game is Riven Grotto. Low level is already tough with a lack of skills and stats but specifically the necro enemies in Riven are absolutely broken. It's just the combination of the seemingly endless fears (that don't seem to actually have a hardcoded cooldown?) and the spells that hit like a truck that seem to be on their melee cooldown rather than a separate cast time.

Suggest to severely tone down the fear duration and slightly nerf their spell damage. The game starts to get more difficult with ambushes, champs, rares, etc. Riven is just too soon and too massive of a jump in difficulty (not to mention the next area is exponentially easier).

I've noticed this myself, but I just kinda played through it.

I always kinda groan when I get to the necromancers. It does ease up though through the higher playthroughs, not only because of what you mentioned but also because pet health doesn't scale from the enemies very well so they tend to be more of something you just punch once and it dies instead of it being 75% (ballparking) of another enemy at the lower levels.

You're probably right. I got toasted quite a few times in this zone. I'll probably just disallow mobs from using fear until they're >= level 20.
