So I just put out 0-8-96. I have been considering a weekly update pattern. Seems to be the norm and I think it might help generate some excitement, too.
Keen Software House has a weekly update for their early access game Space Engineers. I agree it's a good approach and is proven to generate excitement. The day prior to the weekly patch usually has a big Reddit post with people speculating on the new features. Initially they tried to release a new feature every week but found it didn't match their development schedule very well so they switched to a bug fix week and a feature week rotation. Obviously the game doesn't have 20,000 subscribers at this stage but it looks like a good approach.
However, the bottom line is I'd go with whatever is most productive for you.

I might do the Tuesday update routine. Though I am not sure I can restrain myself from updating this game. I am usually too excited to patch things instantly.
It's fair to put balance changes on a weekly schedule but not everything. I'd have been sad if we had to wait a week for mana leech to be fixed after how quickly you've responded in the past.
