I was on the 5th or 6th zone and the next time I logged in I was back to having to kill 4 orc pawns. I am playing server so I thought my progress was saved serverside. Any ideas?

I had that issue when I was playing on Kongregate. Would you happen to be playing there?

Hm, I wonder if Kongregate's iframe causes problems somehow... is it a Kongregate thing? Is it all data or only quest data?

I was playing from the nevergrind.com website and I had a lot going on in my browser tabs... I think I opened the game in a new window and started a new character then went back to the affected character in the other tab. I believe it wrote over my affected characters progression with my new characters. Also, side question, is there anything to buy other than bank/char slots?

When I was on kongregate, my level saved but quest data didnt. I dont play there anymore so I no longer have that issue.

Like Synreal though, I always had a ton of stuff going on in my browser. Now I tend torun Nevergrind in Mozilla Firefox by itself with no tabs.... If I need to use the internet, I'll use google chrome. I haven't had any issues since then.

Synreal, try that. Try running nevergrind in its own browser (Mozilla/IE/Chrome) and if you need a browser to search things or whatever, use a completely different browser.

Synreal, it sounds like a multi-tabbing bug. I'll have to work on preventing this. The double login thing can wreak havoc and cause bugs like this. Here's what happens:

  • Login with character on tab 1
  • Login with different character on tab 2 - browser now thinks you're only playing character 2 (nevergrind doesn't support multi-tabbing)
  • Close tab 2
  • All attempted updates with character in tab 1 will fail or even update the wrong character

I'll have to make the login process air-tight and prevent the login at all if you have another character logged in. At the moment it just boots you at a 20-second interval.

After I make this change, you will be encouraged to "camp out" when logging out. This will help ensure that you don't get a "your character is still logged in" message. If you simply refresh the webpage, you would have to wait about a minute for your character to timeout.

And to answer your question, yes, right now bank and character slots are the only monetized features. I expect to monetize more options in the future, but it's still early. Season 1 is still pretty new. I'm considering extra monetization options for characters that are not playing ladder mode. This will help minimize pay-to-win getting out of hand and ruining the competitive aspect of the game.

As far as ladder is concerned are we all going to pretend that no one bots? I can imgaine this ends up being like a lot of games on kongregate with some people having millions of points in the highscore list and the people that played without aids having 1/10th their score.

Happens in basically every game ever, unfortunately.

That is why the real Ladder is Hardcore mode :) Plenty of Champions to chop down unsuspecting bots.

There's a lot of truth in that. It seems it is actually quite difficult to bot on hardcore. I have seen bots die a lot trying to climb the ladder. Champs are bot killers due to the spike in difficulty they cause in hell. They require some smart evasive maneuvers and/or defensive strategeries. Or very smart bot scripting.

hardcore forever! Any ARPG or RPG that has a hardcore mode, I generally stick to it. Makes the game more exciting/meaningful, for me at least.

Latest patch should eliminate bugs like this.
