Post subject:  Drop rates..

Not sure if it's intended or something weird going on, but it seems like there's a *really* heavy skew towards leather armour? Dozen+ toons, all sorts of classes, levels 1 through 51, three different browsers on two different machines and the pattern remains. Like, 20 to 1 ratio of leather to anything else.

I've also found odd runs of loot where I'll get some new item (eg Crown of Argentus) - way beyond usable level and never seen before - and I'll then get it two or three times in rapid succession. (Like, in the space of a few minutes)

Something awry in the RNG? Or freaky on purpose :)

Rngs are freaky in general. I will check on the leather... prob a coincidence.

I concur. All my characters are equipped with nothing but leather armor (except for casters, they're naked to avoid the haste penalty).

I might see one non-leather drop in all of Act 1.

my level 49 shadow knight is wearing leather in every slot except for one piece of plate. i never really thought about it before this thread, but i think there might be something to this...

Yep my Mage has been reduced to wearing leather with reduced weight on it for nearly all of his slots. 90% leather drops, 10% everything else. Just found my first chain piece worth keeping at 44 last night.

That's odd because when I did my Rogue let's play I was wearing almost entirely plate. Huh. I'll check it out, though.

I think at some point I may have been testing certain types of drops and forgot to remove the line that forced it in the code.

The item variety is astonishing now. It's great to see something besides Vagrant's Timber shoulders dropping.

It's pretty funny how I just assumed other armor classes had not been implemented yet. I figured when you posted the article in the wiki about armor penalties that it meant other item classes were soon to be added.
