I had this dream where I had a haunted tape measure. When you started pulling it out, for whatever reason, it showed the maximum length first instead of the first inch... because dreams are just weird like that. It was 20" tape measure, but I would keep pulling it in and out. After a few times it would say 21", 22", and vary all over the place. It was really creepy ... at least in my dream it was! Sometimes it would also show an image at the beginning of the tape measure.

I think this would be a neat idea for a horror movie. Something like The Ring, except with tape measure. Maybe later in the movie something fully animated would crawl out of the tape measure.

Coming to theaters this Fall, Desperate Measures! Because sometimes there are mere inches between life and death.

Its interesting because the part of your brain that controls when to stop counting gets turned off in dreams. So if you count the fingers on your hand (or anything for that matter) 2-3 times you will usually get different numbers every time. Its wacko. Unless a soaking wet girl crawls out of that tape measure, I'm not sure how scary that is going to be.

It could work. Like the main character could be a guy that accidentally killed some girl while drunk driving or some similar circumstance. So it would be manslaughter, not murder... but he never got caught and decided to cover it up. His job could be something like a carpenter. She decides to haunt him and sometimes when he goes to measure something, she comes back to haunt him! Would pay $10 to see this.

I would pirate that movie (which is an endorsement of sort).
