One of the best indie games I've played in awhile. It pays homage to old school cRPGs like Baldur's Gate II. Its a pretty brutal game for someone who's not familiar with how games like this are played strategically. You pretty much have to pause the game and plan your assault at multiple stages through the fight. The AI can do a little, but you can't just faceroll through the game with the AI doing everything for you like in a game like Dragon Age Origins. The game isn't dumbed down due to SJW bullcrap. I decided to raid and loot this noble's house, went inside, and got stopped by a butler dialogue choice "I'm just here to loot and kill everyone in my way (aggressive)" and there was a maid who stopped me on the 2nd floor, and the game gave me the option to backhand her KO, which required a Might stat of like 16. The game is open ended enough where you can make choices like that without screwing yourself out of a bunch of content. It isn't one of those "You can be a dick, but you're punished severely if you choose to be one" kinda games. Being a dick in Pillars of Eternity is not only fun, its viable. |

It's on my list, will give it a try soon. As a huge fan of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, I waited a long time to play a game like those, and hopefully Pillars of Eternity will be that game! EDIT: bought it on sale last week, playing it since then, looks really awesome so far. Brought back some fond memories from BG and ID
