Hi, I know your working hard on the inventory system, and I expect that some of the stuff I'm saying is going to be resolved in the upcoming update, But I just wanted to bring to your attention some things I've encountered.
The Necro pet you can't see the health bar, or the pet. Just want to make sure if its just me, or if I should be running in explorer instead of chrome?
The question I had about the update coming, will those of us who have been playing and leveling our characters loose out on loot, and should we re-roll our character when the new update comes out?

Oh, weird. Thanks for pointing this out. I don't see the pet at all actually! I'm sure I broke something while fixing something. Expect this to be fixed tonight.

Unfortunately, the new update will be so massive that the old characters will probably have to be wiped. I can't really see any way to avoid this, but if I can avoid it I will try to. The inventory is adding thousands and thousands of variables to the character's saved data (hundreds of possible variables per item slot).

It would not bother me if I have to remake my character. I just can't wait to see the inventory system, and looting in the game.
I did have a few other questions for you if that's ok.
After the inventory system in in place, which I think even after its in game, there are so many things you can do to compound on that system, ie: Rare drops like the flowing black silk sash, and the glowing black stone. Maybe even later adding epics into the game. I think it might be a good idea to either add more spells to the characters, or spread the spells out more. My character is of course a necromancer, and at 38 I have all the spells that the class gets, I think spreading it out over the 50 levels, or adding more spells would be more beneficial, but certain skills need to be available at certain levels for the class to thrive. Just an idea though. Some idea's I would think are, a faster recast of bond of death, and add Lich as a buff that converts health into mana, but bond of death and life tap would have to have the timers changed.
These are just thoughts, either way I'm sticking with the game, it gives me my eq fix.

Yes, I considered avoiding wiping all characters, but it's just not possible at this early phase. Currently, your attributes level up automatically to make up for the fact that there is no equipment to wear. After this next update this will no longer be the case. When you level your attributes will not go up automatically. Instead you must try to find good equipment to aid you at higher levels. Additionally the character data is dramatically expanded because it must track an inventory and your equipment which did not exist until now.
At this time four types of items are planned: normal, magical, rare, and uniques. This is most similar to Diablo 2's loot system, but there will still be many similarities to Everquest. Expect many of the classic uniques to reappear such as flowing black silk sash, though they will NOT be mob specific drops as they were in Everquest. I didn't want to force people to farm specific mobs given the nature of the gameplay. I thought a randomized D2 system would be more enjoyable due to the random nature of the battles. I made this decision with some reluctance, but I think it's for the best.
As for adjusting bond of death's cooldown, I am heavily reluctant to do so at this time. A considerable amount of testing was done to balance all of these skills for viable end-game viability for all classes. Tinkering with a key defensive ability like bond of death would make necromancers much more powerful, so I am very hesitant to do mess with it too much.
I am completely amazed if you got to level 38 by legitimately playing through the game. That is amazing and indicates that perhaps I did something correctly.

I understand about the changes of the spells, it makes since. I can pull up to 3 monsters right now in Sol B as long as I wait for timers. the faster dots to pop back up, and now with aoe fear, it makes it more comfortable if you get an add while fighting. The mage is probably a better character then the necro. We will see when I get higher, but right now in runny eye I can pull 2 monsters and sometimes 3 at a time, with the adjacent aoe's, and the one PBAO that hits all the mobs. I am really happy with playing the casters even the wizard. The melee classes are a bit slower at leveling, and bard twisting is fun, but I am going to keep at it. Lol I'm guessing there is not going to be a shared bank LOL so we can twink our lowbies... Thats a joke, hehe. I think that would be cheating. Plus I like to watch my kill to death ratio.
When is the new update coming out by chance?

A bank is not out of the question. It would be rather small... maybe 4-6 slots, but enough to get the job done at the least. That'll come later when towns are in the game. Also... I'm hoping to upload something tonight, but I can't promise it. Still working on some annoying bugs. This week FOR SURE.

Naturally in a game with this much class variety, there will be inevitable imbalance. I am willing to accept that. Naturally the melee do not level as fast, but I think that is pretty common in most RPGs, though melee tend to be more defensive in nature. I think they will be easier to play when hardcore mode comes out

That would be awesome to have a hardcore mode. Banks 6 slots sounds like enough, and if your allowing us to buy bags that are 4 slot bags, that would probably be great as well.
Bugs I've found: Enchanter spells can become unusable after death, and you need to camp and log back in, or reload the page. might just be me. I run chrome.
Question: Is lord Nagafen, Lady Vox in the game?

They're not in the game yet, but definitely planned. The encounter style will not be exactly the same, but it should be epic nonetheless Also, I will look into that enchanter bug now. The good news is the equipment/inventory looks about usable now. I'm sure there are bugs hiding in there somewhere, but right now it's looking pretty solid! I may upload very shortly, though I'd like to put on some finishing touches... and I'll probably add a bonus item for people playing at this early stage of development. Note that equipment and inventory will WORK, but itemization is not yet in place. That is next.

Thats awesome, let me know when its in, and then Ill reset my nevergrind. I figured Naggy, Vox, Phinny from Kedge, and all the others would be very hard. I think you should have at least 1 if not 2 adds with the named so its not so easy, and instead the epic bosses like Naggy vox and so on being highlighted yellow in the health box, It should be red. Also I think they should not spawn until after level 46, since thats was the earliest you could start an epic quest in everquest. I know this isn't a "Everquest" game per say because it is very individual, but I think it would make the player work for the epic loots.

PS, Everfrost isn't working, so you can't start a Barbarion charictor. I know your busy, but want to keep you up to date on any known bugs. Didn't know if this was on purpose or not.

I found an enchanter bug. Not sure if it fixed the exact problem you mention, but I did fix one thing

Edit: I checked and it did not fix it. To give you a better idea. I kill a mob, and use a spell, on a new mob. once that spell is done casting, all spells are locked up, and unusable.

How many items did you add to the game? do items automaticly go into inventory or do you have to click the corpse to loot?

To be clear I have not itemized anything beyond what you initially start with! To help compensate with this, I added the unique ring as a gift of sorts. Expect rapid updates in the days to come. Right now I am planning to instantly put items in your inventory if you find one. The lack of itemization will probably make leveling very tricky in the days to come, but the austerity will be short-lived. And what doesn't kill you will make you stronger, right?!

Should be millions of bugs in there. But, in seriousness, I tested fairly thoroughly. Nonetheless, I'm sure I missed some. Try putting your sword in your pants or your tunic on your head. Who knows? Maybe it will work.

Nope the items won't go in slots they shouldn't go into. Though I have found that the ring is visually duplicating, in slot 1, and in the ring slot.
