I knew there had to be something, Thanks! When I get home I will see if I was actually doing a crit or a crippling blow. I am thinking it was just a crippling blow. My attack is only around 1300 buffed, so I would be surprised to crit for 9999 with that heh.

Edit: Also, I got a new sword last night. Called "Swiftwind" I think, oh man its nice. I need another one ASAP. I just wish more of these weapons had procs on them, even if its a shitty one, I just like knowing I am procing SOMETHING lol.

Oh really? Ha, I didn't even realize, NICE. Are you planning to add a proc to it? I mean it is a nice weapon for sure, but I was previously wielding these 1-hb weapons that had stats very comparible to Swiftwind (i forget the name). The only thing that made me switch was Swiftwind had +7 life leech and was a bit faster (but with weaker dmg). So is that, at this point, the best weapon a Ranger can get? I ask because, like I said its great, but thought it would have even better stats if it was the current EPIC of that class. A proc at least? :)

By the way, I am still enjoying the hell out of your game. I posted over at Rerolled (my username over there is "Elissidel") to say what a great job you are doing, but I don't think I have said it here yet. I honestly would have backed a Kickstarter for this game if you had made one, and I would still donate to the project if it would make you work faster! lol

Swiftwind has very high global haste for a 1h sword, so that sort of is its "proc". Swiftwind had a 'proc', too, but it was also a passive proc, so not really a proc at all. Kind of like fbss's haste is a proc? Not really a proc. More like a bonus effect. It will stay the way it is because it's a lot like the classic Swiftwind. Earthcaller does have a proc, though.

Thanks for the kind words. It's a lot of fun to work on when I have time and I only expect it to improve. I will probably monetize the game once accounts are available, but not to the extent that it dissuades the community. Probably more like a 'pay for extra/luxury features' kind of thing.

I just started Hell and I was in Unrest 3 with 15 Magic Resist before completing the last quest. I completed it and got the message +30 Permanent Magic Resistance, but my Magic Resistance is still 15 in Hell? I went into Nightmare and Normal and my Magic Resist was the same as before completing the quest in Unrest for another +30 Magic?

Nice catch. I had a one-off error in my code. Most hell quest bonuses were not being applied.

Minor issue i'm noticing (well could be major depending if it kills me :) ) it appears that harm touch from monsters is not reduced in damage by mana shield, and altered state does not turn the damage into healing, you just take the hit.

I thought i noticed this before but usually i'm watching timers and such but this time i specifically used it as i pulled a ghoul in PoH that i know does a HT. I popped altered state, watched my health bar and the message window, i was hit for 215 damage, lost the health and altered state buff was still up.

Not sure if this is intentional or not for this specific skill. The same may happen with deathtouch (cazic) but so rare to fight him that i can't confirm that one.

Oh and a question about resists- Is resistance just an all or nothing check? Does it offer any damage reduction on spells? Reason i ask is that i have my fire resist over 200 and i don't think i have ever completely resisted a fire spell (or any spell other than maybe the dark sphere one that prevents me from changing targets). So if it's not going to reduce incoming spells and i rarely if ever resist a nuke, i should probably not bother so much with resist gear and look for mitigate gear.

At this time mob's harm touch bypasses normal damage checks. Honestly I should probably change that. Really screws over enchanters and such. This game is nothing like classic Everquest when it comes to resists. It's more like D2. It's percentage-based. If you have 200ish fire resist you're resisting about 50% of the fire damage. You never fully resist a damage spell. Though magic resist DOES increase your chance to resist status effects.

So is it fixed now? Will I automatically have the bonus? Because I can't redo the quest now.

Here's a new one i don't recall seeing before. In nightmare, north ro. When the orcs start fleeing, they spam "Orc (whatever) flees for help" over and over probably 5 lines a second until it dies. I didn't see this happening earlier, or didn't notice it, when i was playing. This is on my hardcore mage, if that makes any difference.

*edit* happened in kithikor too so i would assume any fleeing mob.

*edit 2* Separate from the above, i just noticed on the leaderboard that the ranger tab is now "RN(5)G"

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, as this is my first time playing a Bard, but there's an annoying nonstop bug with Bards where if you're playing a song while a monster is fleeing, it SPAMS your chatbox that the monster is fleeing. It does it every time.

Ah I see, good point about it kind of having a passive proc with its 10% attack haste.

On another item note, HOLY COW that "Axe of the Black Dragon Eye" just dropped for me, crazy nice weapon 33/35 with awesome stats. I am duel wielding it and the Swiftwind and honestly don't know which I like more lol.

Is the rogue damage reduction skill supposed to reduce damage from iron maiden, damage shields, and harm touch? If so it hasn't been, but I haven't checked since last night. Sure would make Inny a bit easier. :P

Ok found a bug. So I got this new 1-handed piercing weapon "Razor Fang of Xygox" (crazy stats btw, +17 life leech, wowzers) which procs a spell called "Blessing of Nature" and here are the issues:
A) I can't tell that it actually does anything, its a buff but I don't see it affecting any stats (maybe I am just overlooking it)
B) The buff never fades, ever, it stays up forever after it procs
C) Every time it procs a new buff icon appears on my character, which eventually leads to my entire buff area being filled with this buff icon

On another note, maybe its just me, but I an finding A TON of weapons that are Elite Unique (Epic? not sure the proper term) in comparison to Elite Unique armor/jewelry. I would say that for every 1 awesome armor/jewelry I get that is Elite Unique, I probably get 4 awesome weapons that are Elite Unique. Considering there are only 3 possible weapons slots (including the bow and taking for granted the character can duel wield) and that there are 12 armor slots (13 if you consider a shield), then it can get a little frustrating farming for armor upgrades. Is this intentional? Or perhaps I am the only one having these type of drops and its all just random luck. I say this after about 4 or 5 good hours of gameplay, so I suppose its not the largest sample size...but it is decent.

Eh, .... nah. Those are all special cases of damage. Though I will probably change harm touch. Thorn damage always kind of was immune to stuff like that.

Yes, it does exist. Amulets, rings, trinkets, all of it. Anyone have one? Maybe it's not dropping :shock:

It casts a stackable regen, 17 per tick, on yourself. You should see the HP ticking. What browser are you seeing this buff stay? It disappears in Firefox.

Edit: I see the bug in chrome. fixing now.

From my preliminary testing it seems only normal tier jewelry is dropping. I wonder how many slots are like this. Maybe non-armor items are all like this.

I think I've gotten elite items for every slot except for the jewelry slots (amulets and rings). I have an elite bow, but I don't think I've seen an elite caster item for the bow slot?

As of right now, patch 0-6-13, all item slots are dropping properly. The following slots were NOT dropping beyond normal tier:

- rings
- amulets
- off-hand items
- trinkets
