Don't be surprised if and when I remove the damage values from the tooltips. It's evident what it's hitting for anyhow when you attack so it's not worth the time and energy to maintain 100% accurate tooltip values. I think it would be sufficient to simply explain what the spell is doing, what kind of damage it is, what it hits, the skill's cost, and that sort of thing. Not to mention I think it would save quite a bit of code.

Well, they don't currently update with talents right? If down the line you can get them to be accurate with talents it would be great to have them. This game obviously attracts a lot of EQ/MMA vets and we tend to be pretty stat-centric min-maxers. The more transparency on what things actually do the better.

Honestly, I just got to thinking how much value the tooltip numbers even provide. The damage is displayed when you attack. It's not like Diablo 2 where the player really depended on the tooltip because damage was not indicated anywhere. I think it would be reasonable to just tell players where the damage increases are coming from.
