Thanks for the kind words, guys. Yes, I think there are not many one-man projects out there that have the gameplay depth that Nevergrind does. To this day I am astonished that I was able to even make a game that people would play for more than 10 minutes because even gaming giants fail to achieve that with far more resources.

I started making this game because I have seen so many bad trends in the gaming industry that I became frustrated and decided to make my own game instead of whining about it. I started this project despite knowing practically nothing about web development or server administration. It is crazy to see what can be accomplished when you have complete determination.

It has been a very fun project to work on and I would just like to say thank you for taking the time to play and participate in the forums. And I have every reason to believe the game will only improve with time. Particularly once we have accounts then our hard-earned treasure and characters will be safely stored on a server instead of your web browser. I'm really looking forward to version 1.0!

I am making good progress, and I think I just have to stick with it even though I am very busy irl with kids and my wife is now 39 weeks pregnant.

As a father of a 1 month old and a 2 year old, I feel you, brother. This game has been a sort of meditation for me to chill out from the stress of running a business. I actually haven't played games in ages and just randomly saw this linked on /r/webgames on reddit with no comments and just a handful of likes. EQ brings back some serious memories of when I was essentially still just a kid. The game gives the RPG fix without any of the bullshit.

Question: Will our characters transfer or will they be wiped after beta?

Local characters will still be around. I don't see a good reason to wipe them any time soon, though I might do a "season" system like Diablo 2 does. Server characters will be a fresh start.
