Hey all. So I used to play a lot, but got distracted for a while and had done everything I could do and was like the 2nd highest character at one point (name Tunare), so I took a break for a couple months. Logged in recently to find all my characters gone despite not ever clearing my cookies and using the same browser, so decided to start playing again from scratch.

I must say, I was really disappointed to see a lot of the graphical changes that moved away from the original Everquest design. I also seem to not be hearing the classic EQ music anymore either? And the zone names aren't the same either? Also can't freely zone around and go to the cities I want to to sell and see my favorite old zones and hear the music? So much less freedom and more linear and far too simple, the world feels less big and the magic that the game once had where it felt like more than a mere browser game and an actual large world is totally goneā€¦ really disappointed. Those two things were the top major appeals for me, because it hit my nostalgia fix. Why has all this been changed? Surely the game isn't big enough/popular enough to be on Sony's radar and cause legal problems?

I've been a massive supporter and lover of this game, but now I'm feeling really sad :( What happened?

Edit: Played a bit more, and sad to say, all the appeal is gone for me now. I do greatly appreciate what you've done Maelfyn, you put a lot of work into this game and all for nothing. It was really great and fun while it lasted. Sad to see it go. Wish I'd have known and would have enjoyed it more while it lasted. I thank you for all the hard work and do wish you the best, thanks for the fun while the going was good man. I will miss the adventures I had in this game, glad I have screenshots I can remember it by. Maybe one day someone will make another version. Anyways, goodbye all :(, best of luck, and again, my sincere thanks.

Nevergrind had to move into a drifferent direction that wasn't EQ driven due to future copy right issues. I'm sure you can understand the consequences and collateral damage of dealing with a company like Sony. There might be some aspects of EQ that remain, but trust me, you won't be disappointed with the direction Nevergrind will take. =))
