My money is on:

Image

~Max Abjuration and a whopping 9 thorns damage! In the gif on the kickstarter page there was a gif of a ranger killing Grimden in hell difficulty... didn't even bother to have this buff up. It should do at least ten times that damage, or better, scale off weapon damage since skills max pretty early on.

It's not all about min-maxing ya know? This really helps the ranger roleplay proper like.

Probably a good idea to change these to reflect a percent of the mob's damage. The thorns item property should probably be this way, too.

Yup! That would be a great way of doing it. Diablo 2 thorns mechanics.

I'm not a fan of the roleplaying (read: maintenance) buffs. Seems they are there just there for flavor to mirror the EQ design and don't offer any interesting gameplay in Nevergrind's solo environment. Don't get me wrong, having flavor is nice but the Ranger especially could use some utility to survive later in the game. I can't help but see them as placeholders for actual skills that could offer needed utility.
