Boom

Monk is high enough to use elite gear now I just stuck the heaviest fattest boots lines with pure lead on the thing and flying kick is fun.

His dps is still mediocre overall and his fists are useless but more to come when he gets a bit higher.

haha - so good. It's like my rogue. Some ability (I don't know which one) does % damage and it does similar damage. All of my other attacks are mediocre at best.

Ha, we'll see. They might be pretty good endgame. I'm almost there.

Side note, you said fist damage increased with level, I can tell you 76 to 81 I monitored and my fist damage remained the same!

Woo woo. I'm currently using a fist primary and a mace in offhand. You get the skill damage bonus for having fist primary and still get some weapon stats (and better damage) in the offhand. Not quite as good as 2handed boomstick but viable.

Actually, if I can convince you, I'd rather see the fist delay reduced rather than more damage. It would mean more spirit generation and makes sense, why would fists have 30 delay when endgame weapons are low 20s?

I ran some tests per usual, swarming Arcturin Nightmare:

Cranium Basher (2hb): 4.3k
Fists: 3.6k
Runestone Maul (2hb): 4.4k
Fist / Ebony Mace: 3.9k

DPS is right where it needs to be, slightly lower than my ranger but higher than bard. Keep in mind these numbers are heavily inflated by the fact that a lot of monk damage is cone and these tests were ran with as many mobs up as I could pull. Fists need about a 30% or so increase in raw dps to be matched up in dps and accommodate for the lack of stats. A nice reduction in delay from 30 to 20 at high levels would accomplish this nicely!
