First world Nevergrind problem, I know. There are no combo counters displaying after kills at 99. The no xp message is expected, and I guess I don't need to see the combo counter for anything...I'd like to make sure that the magic find bonus is still from the combo is getting applied.

Not to poop on Tezl's parade, cus like, Congrats and all that, but should the second person (third if you count Tonic I guess lol) to hit 99 be in first place above the first person?

What classes you using to combo that hard? I don't know if i could even combo 20 with best gear on my wizard.. Maybe after 10 deaths.

Might just display them both as tied for 1 instead of 1, 2.

Monks, enchanters and bards are all very adept at comboing. SKs too I believe though I don't know first hand.

I think it's just a side effect of certain mechanics, not an intentional thing. Though, I could be wrong.

Enchanters and bards are easier to get big combos with because your combo counter keeps running as long as you have a charmed pet (even if all the other mobs are dead). The negative side effect to this is you don't regen health or mana in between fights. You can still get ambushed in between fights, since you're still 'in combat.'

I found a fun new weapon, and I was excited for sets!

Some classes are also less dependent on gear and can wear 50-80% bonus exp gear which is a bit of a factor as well. its hard to keep game play varied across this many classes and still maintain some semblance of balance. My monk probably has 4-8 times more offense than my fighter and can combo AND heal better. I have abilities on my monk with zero skill in it that does more damage than the equivalent 20 skill version over on my fighter. Balance will probably come in time. Until then, play a bard, enchanter or monk I guess - or don't.

Since it's a single player game there's no particular pressing need for balance, and all the classes play differently which makes for more fun and more challenge. I like that they all have different strengths and weaknesses and pacing and styles. Quite an achievement to make them all fun to play Combos aren't the be-all and end-all. One of my favourite (and highest level) toons is a wizard who can't chain for sh*t and gets flattened like a snake on a runway if something looks at her funny - but hits like a freight train which makes me stupid happy. And she's the one who found all the seed kit for twinking alts. /shrug.

Getting to 99 on pretty much any class really is just all about sitting down and doing it. It's more of a time sink than anything. I might actually get the fire under me to bang it out in the next few days but there's no real reason to do it other than completionism or dick measuring.

Can second this. Also, consider removing the xp cap... I'm sad that my xp isn't still going up even if it doesn't mean leveling. It's still a leaderboard that currently just sorted alphabetically for the 99s.

Not sure what function the exp cap serves really. The seasons are going to last a long time, and levels are quickly not going to be yard stick that we measure our e-peens by.

I deleted Tonic at 99 so I could have another character slot.
Actually ended up buying a few more later, though.

inb4 100 Paragon levels confirmed by Maelfyn. Just kidding. That would be way too hard to design or implement. Right?
