I know I'm probably the only person that cares, but I'm so excited I have to brag! Finally! Mission accomplished! Been working on this for a long time! Relevant articles: Page 2: Nevergrind climbs past browserquest in pagerankPage 3: Nevergrind climbs to page 2

Nevergrind bounces between #3 and #5 on google search for "browser rpg" for me. It would be nice if it gave the https link instead of the local one though.

That's part of why I want to dump local mode entirely. I would prefer to redirect to https... though I'm not sure to be honest. There's a lot of evidence that shows people will bounce immediately if they see a login screen. That's is literally the only reason I keep http mode around.

I'd be grateful if you moved it instead of dumped it. Either tweak it as a download once, run local kind of dealio or just move to a sekrit URL for the old timers

Kongregate also points to local mode. I don't think anyone there would play if it greeted with a signup page.

I find the results for "nevergrounds" amusing, too. It shows the top two players lol..

I'm going to drop the term indie. I don't want to be associated with hipsters.

I think early access titles have tainted that word with regards to the video games industry. It doesn't mean as much when it used to refer to people like Notch or Jonathan Blow.

Mmm, higher search rankings = more players which will be great for when you implement guilds!

You would think... I have barely noticed referrals from google despite the good rank.

Word of mouth always wins out. I think I found this through Kongregate but I can't remember now. If it was through Kong you were buried in a bunch of other games and if I hadn't dug deep I wouldn't have found NG. If there's a way to get higher up on Kong maybe that'd be another good thing to look into.

Ya, word of mouth is everything. If every player refers >= 1 additional player, you now have a viral thing. Btw, I'm now #3! Also note: google now links to https mode.

Today I learned that I have no idea how to read google analytics data. I'm getting a lot of referrals from google and even yahoo. It turns out that "organic search" referrals are in their own section in google analytics. "Referrals" only show clicks from other websites. It looks like 40% of my traffic over the last two days has been from google.
