It is so much fun melting people away with green numbers, and the talents synergize so well with the dot build. Has anyone looted any absurd +poison items? If so, post them here, I'd love to see whats out there. Right now I'm only level 58, but I'll make a video once I get into hell or late nightmare.

Probably the most comforting thing about this poison dot build is that crit stat is irrelevant, so you can quickly max out cast haste, stack a bunch of attack haste and melee as another powerful dot, even getting some life leech out of it.

My only complaint is that the devouring plague talent max is additional mana, which no shaman ever needs because of cannibalize (which works well with plague already due to the health absorb factor, which makes the 20 point redundant). I would like to see the 20 point bring the cooldown to 45 seconds. 45 seconds is long enough that you cant rely on it, but not so long that you never use it (I rarely use plague during leveling). Or maybe the 20 point would make plague "airborne" and allow it to skip gaps in mobs. Pulling 5 mobs as a shaman is suicide and plague's spread (which is probably why the CD is so long) is only effective if either you get lucky or you get 5 mobs up.

Also for a defensive healer (as opposed to the Druid offensive healer role), there is no talent for increasing the viability of the only direct heal. I feel like my ranger could heal as well as my shaman albeit with a longer cooldown. Bloodlust with the HoT is nice and all, but with no skills to spam, a melee shaman is not really viable unless you want to stay around 500 dps at level 99. If a melee tree is to stay, perhaps it could take some WoW influence and add imbued weapons like windfury or dual wield.

All in all, I am super impressed with this class and it is a shame that no one else really is pushing to play it. And all this dot action is getting me excited for the necro talents later this week.

Might have a point about the 20-point for devouring plague. I just kind of like the idea of a dual leech. Btw, it also mana drains your targets, so that's something.. I guess? :)

I had no idea mobs had mana bars. It really doesnt matter since this game, imo as a player, should be about churning through mobs quickly rather than grinding one pull at a time.

Also what is the effect of curse of the spirits on the shaman epic? I know it is a dot, but what are the details.

And does the monk have the epic gloves in the game?

Okay, just discovered the auto attack boost in the melee tree. Me gusta. Poison doesn't have shit on this.

So it looks like it ticks 12 times, once per second. Each tick does more and more damage, so it does most of its damage at the end.
