Ranger's Weapon Shield icon is turning red after I use it, although I can still use it when it's red it tricks me sometimes and I think I cant I'm also wondering what attribute improves ranger spells the best. Is it Intelligence like the caster classes, or do they scale with attack power or something?

Ah, thanks. Weapon shield is an easy fix. I made a typo there.
As far as spells go, that really depends on what kind of spell. The way spells in NG work is it depends on the spell's school or "type". If it's an alteration spell, +alteration gear makes your alteration spells much better. Stacking alteration is a good idea if you want powerful healing spells. Stacking +evocation gear is probably a good idea if you want heavy nukes. Check each spell's school in the tooltip. Make sense?

yes that makes sense about the spell schools. When I add attack/strength or anything else that raises physical damage, I noticed I get a slight increase in spell damage too. So I was just wondering if there is a ratio for how physical stats effects spell damage and vice versa. Could I gear for physical damage and still have decent healing, ignite and fairy fire damage? Or do I have to gear specifically for intelligence, wisdom and the spell schools in order to make them useful?
Thanks for the weapon shield fix!

Pretty sure physical damage does not affect spells at all. Might have been other stats on the item pushing up spell damage. Rangers in particular are wisdom-based casters, which means their magic damage and mana pool are increased by their wisdom.

I don't think Int affects rangers much at all aside from how quickly their skills go up. I might be forgetting something... haha

Wow! All along I thought Intelligence increases spell damage & mana pool, while Wisdom increases healing power, mana pool & magic damage mitigation. I think read it in the Wiki or one of the tips during loading screen. Too many mis-informations around!

I'd have to double check. There's too much shit going on in this game. I can't even remember it all.

Okay, to confirm int increases spell damage for all classes except bards, which use charisma. However, wisdom DOES increase mana pool for Rangers, Shaman, Paladins, Clerics, and Druids.

Those are vital info's for new players. You should update this in the game as well as wiki, hopefully before v1.0 .
