What are you guys hitting for in hell dire/nimgaul? Thinking of trying out other classes but worried monk just destroys in comparison.

Wanna post your class and average dps for bosses and chains?

My rogue (lvl 96) is comparable to the numbers HentaiHero posted for his monk if maybe slightly behind. Roughly 6k dps. I'd like to find more crit damage. Only sitting at +120%. If you like the monk and you want more of it, I'd imagine they're similar because they're both skill haste classes.

My bard (lvl 94) deals more damage but that's halted by Chromatic champs. The high resistance combined with Sanctuary buff really slows him down (I deal 90% magic damage). When fighting if he runs into a Chromatic Champion, I'll switch my charm to it and keep going. When a second spawns, I'll just ignore it. By the time a 3rd one spawns, I'm debating if I want to run away and start a new pull. Though even with the Chromatic champ blues, I have a much higher top chain on my bard than rogue.

But who knows, when I started off my rogue was dropping 400,000 hp bosses in Hell in 15s flat thanks to overpowered % damage Bleed. I'd play the class if you find the style fun, not who deals the most dps since that might change with a patch.

Thats in hell, of course. The 60k dps was on one of the mini bosses. End bosses I do about 30-35k. 60k+ has only happened once but seen 50k a bunch. Scary thing? I could up that DPS way higher but: 1) hits cap at 99,999 damage and 2) lack of dex on high end gear.

I mean, I die lots. Stuns and even blinds can mean I go splat.

I've picked up 5 or 6 upgrades in the last 2 days or so of doing huge chains and I generally do around 9k on chains and 20k on bosses but I don't think I've sacrificed as much survivability as you yet, Beaster. I'd really like to find more GOOD pieces with stun reduction because stuns during triple ambushes are what have led to both of my deaths at 97. I can usually survive an ambush fine, but not stunned. I think a thing that sets Monks apart from other classes is we mostly need sick boots and a decent weapon to pump out numbers, whereas, in my experience so far anyway, other classes need decent gear all around to perform well, especially when balls deep in a super extended chain. I'm checking out some other classes myself right now, though I kinda wanna try to get back up to the 1200 chain I died during yesterday to see where that ranks on the leaderboards for combos.

I dont think I've come even remotely near a 1k chain.

I haven't found a pair of those. I'm currently using Friar's because I haven't found better really.

Hard to decide what I want to do. I'm enjoying the Bard, Rogue and Ranger right now quite a lot for various reasons each. I wanna push more on my monk but I have some kind of mental disorder that makes me want to play everything

Also using friar's for gloves. Not really anticipating finding any thing better there. Though ugh dex.

Hows SK? I really want to try SK and shaman just due to ogres being ogres and really nice gear options

I've found SK slow so far, though I switched from trying the bleed, heavy phys build, to the DoT, hybrid phys-magic build and that seemed to be a lot better. I have everything for the SK set besides the weapon and I was kind of crushing everything. There's a lot of DoT/Debuff micromanagement which isn't something I'm particularly a fan of. Wanted to try a Harm Touch heavy build using the 6pc set bonus and the 20 point talent to see how that felt but haven't gotten there yet.

Haven't tried Shaman personally. They're ranked with Cleric, Druid and Paladin for lowest priority for me right now. Dunno why, just don't care much for the Wis caster archetype.

I wish there were more build guides/end game videos of other classes so I could preview them a bit before trying them. Don't have all the cashola in the world to buy up character slots.

I need to equip my rogue better before Nevergrounds goes live or it's going to be embarrassing. Finding gear for my bard was 100 times easier.

Pulling massive chains off I have come across a ton of amazing pieces which adds to my Alt ADD. If I could focus and level my Bard in particular right now she would be insanely geared. Maybe the stuff that's good for Bards are just super common items lol.

Pretty sure I've got the SK set. Have duke, augur, friar, daimo, malefactor, and wraith iirc. 40 second harm touch though seems like a long wait still.

I like the shaman potential due to all the poison % gear you find every where. But most of my fondness of shaman came from slowing mobs in EQ, and who cares about that here.

Rog weapons are pretty sexy. Ragestriker and nightfall. But their other gear is kind of meh like monks. Cloaks are really hard to find. So are shoulders. Ring options are tough too. Its like all the high level melee dps gear just assumes youre capped for dex and dont care about strength/agi.

Warriors have really good options, too but I made one to level 5 or so and just didnt like the way the class played much. I mean.. level 5 so.. theres that.

Yeah, you have to get a class to the point where you're about to beat Normal before you start to get a real feel for them, I've found. I also have a 5 or 6 warrior but I think he'll have to wait til after the other three I plan to level. I have a bank full of amazing 1HS and Piercers as well, including the equivalents to the Bard, Ranger, Druid and Rogue Epic 1.0s. The Monk one seems kind of Underwhelming so far but I haven't really put it through the rounds of an extended chain yet so I need to test it a bit more. I found an okay pair of shoulders, 62 Elite Unique, can't recall the name off the top, and yeah, still rocking a level 36 cloak I think lol. I think there may be too many stats currently sometimes. It feels like some items are just all over the place which can make them borderline useless, even "End Game" items.

Think I've decided on Bard as the next project. They seem borderline OP once you get your mana under control(which happens pretty rapidly) and start to understand how everything works. None of the other characters I've played can just laugh their way through full 5 mob swarms without even worrying a little bit.

On topic, monk dps is insane if you happen to have/find a great pair of boots - I hit 75k on a boss, and that was at around lvl75 in nightmare! In chains it goes down ofc, but it 's still higher than any other class I've played so far, even Wizard.

EDIT: I've just equipped Windforce (forgot about the bow/trinket slot, had a rare bow lol), nice dps boost!

Yeah the best boots arent unique/set which are kindve sad for monks but meh.

Hoping more for other classes getting boosted to have monk potential over monks getting nerfed.
