Don't remember much about diablo 2 seasons. Does that mean at the end of season 1 there will be a season 1 specific leaderboard and it will be safe to delete a character and start over for season 2 or do we need to keep the character so it maintains its place on the board for prosperity ? Just wondering.

I don't think I'll save the board results for posterity... well... maybe in a database file somewhere. And I'd probably make a nice shitpost about it in case anyone wanted to dig it up. That's probably a good idea.

Once the new season starts, ... well, I just realized. I would have to give players the option to select ladder or non-ladder. Maybe someone would prefer to share items with their non-ladder characters and don't care about leaderboards, etc. Anyway, when you create your character in season two, you'd select ladder or non-ladder. It would default to ladder. Yeah.

That sounds like the best of both worlds. Gives leaderboard competitors a chance to go at it all over again and others to continue playing unaffected.

I like your focus is adding new features to go with the tremendous amount of content players have access to for free. I don't think a new season will be needed for a long time.
