Champions are coming soon to NeverGrind. Champions are high-powered versions of regular mobs that can randomly appear anywhere at any time (after level 2).
Here's the good news and the bad news:
Good News:- They guarantee, at a minimum, two blue drops.
- They have a higher rarity loot chance than normal mobs.
- If you have powerful characters, you can really rake in the items due to their drop rate and the guarantee that they drop two items combined with high combo chains!
Bad News:- Every Champion has more hit points, more strength, more defense, more intelligence, and higher resists.
- They also receive one trait which gives them a special ability. At this time there are 22 special traits. See below for details:
Vicious: Increased strength and intelligence
Frenzy: Increased attack speed
Juggernaut: Massive hit points
Tough: Increased Defense
Chromatic: Increased resistances to all magic
Summoner: Summons two pets
Sprinter: Has very fast fleeing speed
Vampiric: Leeches your health
Lamprey: Burns your mana
Poison Enchanted: Strong poison resistance, poison damage added to their attacks, explodes for poison damage on death
Lightning Enchanted: Strong lightning resistance, lightning damage added to their attacks, explodes for lightning damage on death
Cold Enchanted: Strong cold resistance, cold damage added to their attacks, explodes for cold damage on death
Fire Enchanted: Strong fire resistance, fire damage added to their attacks, explodes for fire damage on death
Martyr: Explodes on death and heals all allies
Phased: All damage given and taken is significantly reduced
Dauntless: Immune to stun and fear
Crippling Aura: All of your heals have reduced effectiveness
Disruption Aura: All of your spells have increased cast time
Conviction Aura: All of your resists are reduced
Concussive Aura: All of your global cooldowns are increased
Ensnaring Aura: Decreases your run chance
Zealous Aura: All mobs' attack speed is increased
Bear in mind that this game is planned to go to level 99 and have three difficulty levels. On the hardest difficulty elites will have three traits, so just imagine what a challenge some of those combinations will be. At the highest levels they will be quite common—roughly 1/5 of all mobs encountered.
