My local mode has 20 toons, all copies from the same one.

It seems to be an automatic lottery backup feature, working as intended

Weird problem. Can I ban local mode yet? Maybe in season 2... in any case this should be fixed tonight.

I don't see why local mode exists?

Legacy holdover. That's all that existed for a long time.

I think you should dump Legacy mode tbh.
It's confusing for anyone that might make their way here by typing nevergrind.com into a browser window and unknowingly end up gimped on local mode.
Default should absolutely be Server Mode.

But I already fixed this bug. Ya, you are probably right. Supporting it is a drain and it segments the user base.

Have you though? Typing nevergrind.com into my browser takes me straight to local mode.

Nono, I mean the "duplicated" character bug in local mode. It's not live yet. In any case, I think I'll redirect.... soon. I just wanted to be sure server mode was fully embraced. I think we're well beyond that.

I'd like to plead for turning this into a standalone offline mode instead. No fixing or upgrading ever, just whatever it is now, "if you must" mode.
I know it'd be a long way down the to do list but ..... /beg

Out of curiosity, why? Airplane mode?

Yeah partially that, partially preserving the "single player game" feel as Nevergrind Proper slides more towards MMO mode*, partially packrat/nostalgia for the pre-server toons I have that I still enjoyed playing (* I love the server mode and the idea of mail/trade/even chat and the leaderboards and whatnot, but sometimes.... ) I dunno. I have no good reasons. I just miss it already

I have considered making an "installable version" of Nevergrind. A lot of game websites require you to upload an installable version, which basically means no server-side code. It would all have to be html, css, and javascript. This in itself would be quite a bit of work as so much of the game talks to the server and/or the database. Quite frankly there's a lot about it I don't understand. Would the local storage API still work? Would sounds work? I feel like it would be a big time investment for something I'm not sure would even pan out.

If it was standalone/local it wouldn't matter if people wanted to hack it, wouldn't affect anyone but them Mael - ok, no worries, if it's a lot of work then..... RIP and I shall grieve quietly over here......

Suvana what i meant was, there would be no point to pay him money if people can just hack themselves crystals or whatever they needed.
